New Year

I’ve always thought blogs were cool, i’ve given them a try before, but nothing ever completely congealed. With the new year right around the corner, i’m giving it another go. I think this personal website/blog concept needs some space to work and I think I finally have a bit of that to spare in my life right now. In the midst of working, studying and procrastinating (then working non-stop on) massive computer science projects, one does not really have time to devote to such a venture. Being a full-time web developer, that should at least provide a solid excuse for pouring free time into this little personal project, maybe it will be useful and a little fun for others as well, I’ll see what I can do.

For me, the dawn of the new year is like finding a shoe box full of photos. The box is a little dusty, and it has been in your view all year, but just now have you taken some time to riffle through the contents. This year my shoe box is overflowing… Without a doubt, I will always remember the year 2007 as being one of the most amazing and memorable years of my life. To tag one single word to this year, I would choose the word ‘change’. In essence, one chapter ended and another began…instantly. I honestly have a hard time wrapping my head around how life can change so quickly and in the case of 2007, so perfectly. It is like I went through a drive through and ordered a great job and a gorgeous loving girlfriend, with fries of course.

Within this year’s box of snapshots lies a memory I’ll never be able to forget; an instance that will forever give me goosebumps when I think about it. On a cold evening in March, I stood in the entrance of Blue on Highland with clammy hands, waiting for this girl named Sarah to show up for our first date after we met through match.com a few weeks prior. The myriad of internal questions I was posing to myself as I waited there nervously vanished the second I first saw her through the restaurant’s glass windows. She glowed and at that second I knew my life had changed forever. Sarah is my walking dream come true. I can talk endlessly about Sarah and what she bring to my life, but I’ve been around plenty of couples, and seen too many movies, to know just how annoying reading or hearing those types of things can be, so for the sake of blog variety, you can talk to me about her directly or perhaps we can arrange a meeting? Sarah’s my world, and the highlight of my 2007.

I think this is a good first start. I’ll work my hardest on updating this thing as much as my schedule allows me to do so. I’ll also try to get creative from time to time.

Happy New Year to all!
